🎉 2025 APL Million – A Record-Breaking Series 🎉

The 2025 APL Million has officially wrapped up after 18 unforgettable days, cementing it's place as the biggest and most prestigious poker series in Australian history.

From 15 August to 1 September, players from across the country and beyond converged to compete in 91 events, generating a record-breaking $15,729,935 prize pool.

At the heart of the series was the $1,500 Main Event, which attracted a staggering 3,375 entries across ten flights, creating a $4,387,500 prize pool and awarding $738,920 to our newest champion, Higor Seibel. This was again the largest tournament staged in Australia.

But the Main Event was only the beginning. The schedule was stacked with headline tournaments including the Jackstar Super High Roller, the Centurion, and a host of Player of the Series races that showcased the very best of Australian poker.

Behind the scenes, the series was powered by the tireless efforts of the APL team, who once again set a new standard for professionalism and dedication — ensuring every player felt welcomed and supported from start to finish.

"Unbelievable.

That’s the only word to describe what has unfolded over the past eighteen days at Southport Sharks.

Every estimate, every previous record, every advertised guarantee, and every expectation has been shattered. The numbers are simply remarkable:

  • 2025 APL Million Main Event: 3,375 entries; $4,387,500 prize pool (+7% YoY) – the largest tournament ever staged in Australia… again

  • Total Series Prize Pool: $15,729,935 (+19% YoY)

  • Total Series Entries: 30,386

Now, all that remains is gratitude.

To the players for your loyalty, patience, and resilience – thank you.
To the team at Southport Sharks – thank you.
To the tireless staff (dealers, TDs, registration, media, streaming, logistics, management, and more) – an even bigger thank you.

It’s time to rest, reflect, and, most importantly, look ahead to how we can make this extraordinary series even better in 2026."

🏆 Player of the Series Results

Higor Seibel’s victory in the Main Event also catapulted him to the top of the Tier 1 Player of the Series rankings, edging out Chris Armour at the post! The Adelaidean’s rise on the Australian poker scene has been meteoric, and with triumphs in both a 489-player Six-Hundred Six Max and the 3,375-strong Main Event, he has cemented his reputation as one of the country’s top players.

George Zhang’s consistent performance had the biggest impact on the Australian Poker Schedule’s Game of Fantasy, with the Yellow Bucket Hats claiming back-to-back Fantasy victories at the APL Million. George asked us to pass on a message: “It would be great if you could shout out @gz4bet on Insta/YouTube. I’ll be releasing the APL Million daily vlogs over the next month so the community can see how it’s done.”

Antony Lakey dominated within his tier, earning the highest POTS points of all three winners. With six final table appearances and a title, he surged to an impressive 2,955 points, securing his Player of the Series trophy well before the final day thanks to an unassailable lead.

Congratulations to all players who shared in the $100,000 Player of the Series promotion — fully funded by APL!

🏆 HIGOR SEIBEL – 2025 APL MILLION MAIN EVENT CHAMPION 🏆

Higor Seibel — the brilliant Brazilian — has been crowned the 2025 APL Million Main Event Champion.

Since 2022, Higor has been a dominant force on the Australian poker circuit, collecting countless titles and making deep runs in major tournaments. With two prior APL victories, a string of five-figure scores, and a career-best live cash of over $260,000 at the 2024 APO Main Event, Higor has already built an impressive resume. But today, he smashed through those numbers with an extraordinary $738,920 payday.

Now calling Adelaide home, the South Australian recently celebrated becoming a father for the first time. Just last month, he declared on camera that he would win this Main Event for his son — and on the first day of Spring, that bold prediction became reality.

Higor emerged as the last player standing from a record-breaking field of 3,375 entries, generated across ten flights, surpassing the benchmark set in 2024. The series’ growth continues to be driven by APL’s grassroots pathways program, with more than 1,100 players satelliting their way in — some from as little as a few dollars.

One of the best examples of this pathway is Perry Langley, who turned his pub-game opportunity into a remarkable seventh-place finish worth over $100,000. Stories like Perry’s are what make the APL Million unique: everyday Australians competing alongside the nation’s best, on poker’s biggest stage.

The Australian Poker League thanks all players for their involvement and support in making the APL Million the premier poker event on the Australian calendar. Next year, a new banner will be raised in the Hall of Fame:

“Higor Seibel – 2025”

Congratulations, Higor!

🏆 TROY SWEET – 2025 APL MILLION JACKSTAR SUPER HIGH ROLLER CHAMPION 🏆

What a moment for Troy Sweet, who has captured the 2025 Jackstar Super High Roller title and cemented his place among the elite of Australian poker.

Only days ago, his brother Jack kicked off the series with an Opening Event victory worth more than $128,000. Now, Troy has gone one better, claiming one of the most prestigious titles on the schedule in front of a passionate and vocal rail. The Sweet brothers’ meteoric rise on the tournament scene has been a major talking point — and this latest win takes their story to a whole new level.

Troy entered the final table as chip leader and, despite plenty of swings, managed to hold his nerve all the way to the finish line. The celebrations ended with an unforgettable rail photo, capturing the energy and excitement of a champion’s moment.

Over the past 12 months, Troy had amassed around $300,000 in live earnings. Tonight, he more than doubled that figure, banking an incredible $384,090 payday along with a coveted $100K Invitational Seat.

This year’s Jackstar Super High Roller drew a record-breaking 1,477 entries, shattering the 999-entry field of 2024 and generating a massive $1,920,100 prize pool — larger than four previous APL Million Main Events. The growth of this event underlines its reputation as one of the must-play tournaments on the calendar.

Congratulations, Troy!
