I am delighted to announce that, commencing next Monday 15th May, Tom Bower will undertake the role of APLPT Business Manager. This role replaces the previous Director of Major Events role that I filled for over two years.
Tom has an extensive and impressive 20-year career in Poker where he has worked for all the major Poker providers in Australia, as well as PokerStars – the largest online poker operator in the world. He was one of the first operators/tournament directors to run league poker in Queensland, and this experience and reputation led him to begin employment with PokerStars in 2007. His role originally centred around discussing poker math and strategy with players, but soon grew to include helping to detect and prevent online collusion.
In 2009, Tom became the Australian Training Co-ordinator for PokerStars and has trained hundreds of people in the intricacies of the game. He was a lead designer in the poker training program used for all PokerStars employees. This program explored the history of the company and the strategy of the game itself.
In 2016, Tom launched Lights Camera Action (LCA) Poker. LCA has served as a live stream partner to most major Poker operators (including APL) and has since filmed and broadcast over 3,000 hours of poker ranging from small private tournaments through to many of Australia’s major Poker events.
Once again, I am delighted and excited to welcome Tom to the APL Team, and feel confident that his unique skillsets will add to what has already become a consistent, rewarding and well established APLPT product.
